Translation

Greetings to all elders, relatives and friends who like to access this page and read about issues discussed concerning our district.

We acknowledged the sad passing of one of our elders, Olovie Visoni during the week.

Appreciation was extended to the youth and parents who took part in the dance item for our district during the celebration on 24 May 2011

Fatiaki Misau presented the need to build an extension to the Meeting Hall in Oinafa to hold all records relating to the district.

Discussions also focused on the function scheduled for 19 November 2011.

  • The meeting agreed to have the church service at Churchward Chapel then move to Studio 6 Hall, Waimanu Rd, Toorak.
  • Refreshments will be provided at the hall
  • A narration by one of the elders on the first landing of Christianity in Oinafa
  • A slide presentation will be prepared to show pictures of Oinafa and its people during the time of our forefathers. We request anyone with photos taken during the early days to scan the images and forward them to haua.oinafa@gmail.com.
  • A presentation and discussion forum on future programs that can be undertaken by the youth in coming years.
  • Dance performance – "Rir jaujau"
  • Dinner
  • After dinner function
  • The meeting also agreed to raise funds collectively to prepare for the event
  • The first fundraising dinner will be held at Fatiaki Misau's home, 6 Kavu Place, Namadi Heights on 25 June 2011.

May God bless us all.
