Tieri Erasito wins six medals at Pacific Games

MOBILE phone company Digicel hosted some members of Team Fiji to the Pacific Games on Tuesday night.

The Fiji sevens and the Paralympics team, alongside brand ambassadors Banuve Tabakaucoro, Tieri Erasito and James Bolabiu, were accorded a fitting welcome party for their efforts in New Caledonia.

These members helped Team Fiji finish on fourth place at the regional event with 34 gold, 44 silver and 53 bronze medals.

Newly-crowned Pacific's sprint king Tabakaucoro blazed the tracks in Noumea winning gold medals in his events (100 metres, 200m and 4x100m).

The Bau bullet also set a new record in 200m after clocking 21.06 seconds.

Swimming ace Erasito also had a glittering Pacific Games coming home with the most medals. Erasito won six medals (three bronze, three silver) from her events. She also set a new record in the 200m butterfly event (15-16 age groups) of 2 minutes 28.63s.
