Waqa tours Rotuma

by Rashneel Kumar

FIJI sevens assistant coach Etuate Waqa is on a tour to Rotuma, running series of clinics to help with the development of rugby on the island.

Waqa, who is part of the tour led by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, was impressed with the raw talents in Rotuma. "We are here as part of the player outreach program ran by the ministry," he said.

"We have conducted the IRB (International Rugby Board) Level One coaching clinic for coaches and players and ran clinics at the various schools.

"Like all other places, Rotuma also have some exciting talents. They have lot of potential here in the island."

Waqa said they would organise games during their stay to identify some players, who could potentially be drafted into their development program.
