The donation is part of the class ongoing effort to fundraise for the students of RHS in their quest for digital transformation.

According to the RHS Class of 1995, the laptop devices will address the short-term issue of ensuring the current and future students in Rotuma are able to excel in their academic endeavors and there remains a long-term goal of creating the platform for more projects for the students and the school.

In a statement issued by former student, Patrick Rafaele they acknowledged FAWFIJI Trust's kind donations and support in their project to give back to their alma mater."We recognize that over the years, RHS has produced a number of distinguished individuals, and being the only high school on the island, we would like to ensure this trend in academic excellence continues."

And we are very grateful for the kind donations and the support we received from FAWFIJI Trust and we hope to make the delivery of the laptops to RHS at the earliest possible time as the laptops are urgently needed at the school to assist students on the island close the digital divide.

"The objectives of the project are to; give students in Rotuma accessibility to modern research and learning equipment, give students accessibility to a wide range of resources that is available online to strengthen their research and learning, and to prepare students for future engagements at tertiary level education and the wider workforce.

There are 38 former students that make up the group and are inclusive of the overseas and Fiji-based alumni.
